DIY Side Table

So since we redid lots of the house I think it's fun to have little things that I am made myself. I am not a super woodworker or anything...but like to find (or come up with) little DIYs that are not to tricky....so thought I would share this one! Vivi's nursery side table! I was able to make it the colors I wanted (and since I refinished the dresser & painted a shelf my dad made, everything matched!), be the style I liked, and save a little money!

Here is what you need:

I will take you through my steps...and I did not do a great job of taking pics of all the parts....but I think you will get it!

  1. Make sure you have all your parts!
  2. Place your angled mounting plates where you want them & mark the holes. I recommend not right on the outside or the legs will stick out pretty far. Also...make sure they plates are angled the right way! I attached the legs to them then put the plates on so I was sure they were the right way.
  3. Drill holes in your cake pan. Recommend having something under the cake pan that you can drill into because it will bend some (at least mine did!)
  4. Attach mounting plates with included screws.
  5. Spray paint cake pan with plates on ( I did it this way so that they would not be a different color than the "table")
  6. Stain the top & legs
  7. Tape off the wood part of the legs & spray the bottoms gold (only if you want gold instead of silver. Could also be a color!)
  8. Put your table together!
  9. Trace the bottom of the cake pan on a piece of cardboard & cut inside the lines to make it a little smaller. Decorate/cover in wall paper or contact paper if you want! This just hides the screws inside the table.

I love how the table looks in the room and think it is fun that I made it and will hopefully be something she/we can use for a long time!

I would love to hear what you think & if you try this please share with me! 😍
